Concert Spotlight: Premiere of “Autumn Suite” with Chamber Orchestra at Mount Auburn Cemetery 11/04/17

On Thursday November 4th, join Mary Bichner and Planetary Orchestra for the final concert in Mary’s Mount Auburn Cemetery composer residency — and the world premiere of “Autumn Suite”!

For the past two years, Mary has served as composer-in-residence at the beautiful Mount Auburn Cemetery of Cambridge and Watertown, MA. Over the course of the residency, Mary composed twelve new pieces inspired by the cemetery’s beautiful landscape and landmarks at different times of year, and recorded the tracks alongside an 18-piece orchestra at WGBH Studios in Boston, MA. The tracks were released as a digital album entitled “Mount Auburn: Spring and Autumn Suites” on June 3rd, 2017 (you can download the album for free right here!).

The “Spirng Suite” was premiered live back in June, and the “Autumn Suite” will have its world premiere on Saturday November 4th at Mount Auburn Cemetery’s Story Chapel! Mary will perform alongside a fantastic 19-person ensemble who, in addition to the suite, will also play several of Mary’s previous pop and classic works re-imagined for chamber orchestra, and a new piece entitled “Spiral” by guest composer Chess Albaneze.
