"While composing for a carillon is a lot different than writing for opera and ballet, Bichner said her unique neurological condition, sound-to-color synesthesia, has been a plus. [...] 'It can be exciting,' Bichner said. 'I feel I can bring an audience more into the music by telling them about the colors in advance.'"
