Travelogue: composer residency at the vasilicos of santorini, greece (MAy 2024)

In late May 2024, Mary was honored to serve as composer-in-residence at The Vasilicos, an elegant seven-suite boutique hotel perched on the magnificent Caldera of Santorini, Greece; as part of its “[To Build] A [Temporary] Home” ad hoc residency program. While in residence, Mary took notes and conducted research for a new string quartet work using her sound-to-color synesthesia, inspired by the rainbow hues of the world-famous Santorini sunset, as viewed from The Vasilicos’ Efta balcony.

Travelogue: "RENCONTRES POÉTIQUES III" CONCERT WEEK IN SAINT-CYR-SUR-LOIRE, FRANCE (MARCH 2024)

From March 24th-30th 2024, Mary was delighted to visit the city of Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, France to perform with composer Christina Goh in the third edition of their poetry inspired concert series, "Rencontres Poétiques". While in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, Mary was also honored to meet with the wonderful offices and organizations that made the concert possible, as well as perform in a children's edition of the concert for a local elementary school group.

Travelogue: Recording with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in Budapest, Hungary (October 2022, PART 2)

In October of 2022, Mary traveled to the city of Budapest to record “Oh, the OF It All!”, her nine-minute ballet based on a libretto by the John J King, with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in Hungary's famous Rottenbiller Studio.

TRAVELOGUE:“Rencontres Poétiques II” Concert and “Un Autre Angle” Lecture in Tours, France (October 2022, part 1)

From October 16th-23rd 2022, Mary was thrilled to return to the city of Tours, France to perform in the second edition of her international poetry-inspired collaborative concert series with French composer Christina Goh, “Rencontres Poétiques”; as well as to speak during the “Un Autre Angle” lecture at the Biblioteque de Tours. Both events were presented by the City of Tours as part of France’s annual “Semaines d’information sur la santé mentale“.

Travelogue: "Ut Fortis" Concert, Institut de Touraine Masterclass, and Studio Concept Prod Recording Session IN Tours, France (June 2021)

From June 5th-13th 2021, Mary was honored to visit the city of Tours, France to perform in composer Christina Goh’s “Ut Fortis” concert, centered on the important topic of suicide prevention. While in Tours, Mary was also invited to give a presentation of her work at the Institut de Touraine, as well as record vocals for the Christina Goh song “Ut Fortis” at David Perraudin’s Studio Concept Prod.

Travelogue: COMPOSER RESIDENCY AT THE HELENE WURLITZER FOUNDATION OF TAOS, NM, USA (SEPTEMBER 2018-DECEMBER 2018)

From September through December 2018, Mary served as composer-in-resdience the prestigious Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of Taos, New Mexico, USA. Established in 1954, the Helene Wurlizter Foundation "manages one of the oldest artist residency programs in the USA. The Foundation’s mission is to 'Support the artist and the creative process' and serves as a haven for visual artists, literary artists and music composers."

Travelogue: Composer-in-Residence at Marble House PROject of Dorset, VT, USA (May 2016)

In May 2016, Mary was selected to serve a composer-in-residence at the wonderful Marble House Project of Dorset, VT, USA. As described on the residency's website, "Marble House Project is a multi-disciplinary artist residency program that fosters collaboration & the exchange of ideas by providing an environment for artists across disciplines to live and work side by side."
